The consultation stage

A thorough assessment is carried out by the doctor before the operation:

    •    mammography or ultrasound scan,
    •    blood tests,
    •    establishing the patient's expectations,
    •    selecting the most suitable surgical technique.

The consultation is crucial for the success of the operation.

Breast reduction surgery is performed under general anaesthetic and takes approximately 2 hours.

During the operation:

    •    excess fat, skin and breast tissue are removed,
    •    the nipple is repositioned to the ideal position,
    •    the breast is reshaped to be more compact and symmetrical,

Recovery process

    •    A special breast support bra must be worn for 4 weeks.
    •    Strenuous physical activity is restricted for 6 months.
    •    The final shape settles within 6 months.
